I would definitely go for a MY17 if at all possible, the larger screen has the same operating system as the later models (apple carplay etc).

I’ve driven a car that has the smaller screen/older infotainment system. I’d be grateful if you could let me know what the differences are between the MY16 cars with the smaller screen and the MY17 cars with bigger screen?

I'm certainly not aware of anything other than the bigger screen (InControl Touch Pro) and a slightly upgraded Speedo Display.I think it was mainly to push sales and old stock until the MY18 came out. But I would say the newer screen and software is a major improvement over the previous releases. MY2017 RRS Capathian Grey

Perverse I know but InControl Pro was a deal breaker for me after coming out of BMW with their iDrive system. There was just no way I could live with their ZX Sinclair system. ICP isn't that great in comparison to the competition bit it's a step change over the old set up. Ferrari F430 Spider F1

This exactly the same for me; without Apple Carplay there is no way I could live with LR’s Sat Nav and Media offering. Very tough coming away from the idrive. MY2017 RRS Capathian Grey

This was my old car which was exceptional in every way...although the mileage is high it was all on motorways and never stressed at all...

I nurtured this car and it’s option list was exceptional including the fabulous £4.5 k stereo option which was sublime!
