2018 SVR Exhaust Modification, Done

Hi Guys,

I have the quite SVR, 2018 like a lot of you.
I have just had my exhaust modified and fitted my remote flap device and it sounds amazing.
The exhaust modification was £350 and my remote device cost £50 so £400 all in.
Well worth it and sounds not far from the earlier version.

Here is a video.

Sounds great! Do you have any other information on how it works? Is there a new mechanism fitted to the LR solenoids in the mufflers? 2020 SVR / R.I.P. 2019 SVR / 2016 D4 Landmark / 2005 D3 HSE

The remote device I invented. Its fitted in the boot and takes about 20 min to fit. It overrides the system so the valves fully open, rather than the t% they open normally.
The exhaust mod was exhaust off, mod in the rear silencers and resonator. The guy knew his stuff, to work and under normal driving, you wouldn't know it was modified until you press the remote lol 2018 SVR

the_big_1,

An impressive mod, are we saying this has finally cracked this issue with quiet SVRs? As in the best solution? Is it something you’re happy with while still in the warranty period?

Would you mind posting a pic of the remote please?

Hi ya,

Here is a link to a kit I fitted Friday so you can see the remote.
The remote part does nothing to the car physically but make the valves open earlier than usual so shouldn't effect warranty, how would they know without them having the remote lol.
The exhaust mod, unless they took the exhaust off, again they have no way of knowing anything has been done.

Yeh just been and seen that, it’s real tidy!

I can see this taking off, a lot of enthusiastic SVR owners out there will like this and let’s face it, it’s what they’ve paid for! The noise is in there, just got to get it out!

So presumably your kit will have an effect even without the mod carried out by PCW?

Yeah exactly. I had the remote kit for about 3 months before I had the exhaust done. Almost didn't as I liked the sound the remote was doing and was worried the exhaust mod would end up sounding like a boy racer. Luckily it didn't lol.
I guess the kit is a simple, cheap kit to fit, its loud enough for you, happy days, if not, exhaust mod is next. With the kit, its 4 wires, if your worried about the dealer, its easy to take off and re-fit. I fitted the one in the link Friday, took me about 10 - 15 mins to fit 2018 SVR

Hi there to the_big_1

I have just bought today the SV Velar autobiography but the sound from the big 5ltr is simply crap compared to my 18 plated SCV8,

So my question is does your switch work on the velar which does have the exhaust button?

If so where/how can I buy one of these easy to fit switches?

P.s I don't do FB! MY18 SCV8 Satin flux silver

I’ve got a similar set up on my focus RS,they come with a valve on the exhaust & I purchased a system from from this company so I can open & close the valve whenever I want to.

I’m not sure the wiring/plug will be the same, but I’m sure it can be made to work, iifc their is 3 wires in the loom for this remote. They revert to closed when the ignition is turned off which is good for early morning starts then when I’m off the estate I then open the valve. Andy.

Thanks fella I may have to ask around at my local garage see if their happy to try and adapt that set up and as you say in principle should do the same job with little reworking to the leads. MY18 SCV8 Satin flux silver
