Rear tyre inside wear

This time last year I put a new set of tyres on the RRSS. The rears were wire on the very very inside edge of the rears.
At the time i couldn't be bothered with alignment.
A few days ago I noticed the rears are badly worn again - and that's about 5k.
My X5 with really obvious neg camber doesn't wear the tyres that quickly.
I'm going for alignment tomorrow and to swap the rear tyres side to side.
How can it be that bad? Anyone else have this issue?

That's odd. It must be way out. Please post your alignment results when you get your printout. It'll be interesting to see what the angles were on that corner. Kev

It appears they were scrubbing because of the excess negative toe you have. That would mean that the rear wheels are toeing out where the front of the wheel is pointing away from the centreline of the vehicle. In addition, the overall negative thrust angle would have been causing the rear axle to crab over the left. I would expect the tyres to be feathered on the outside of the tread pattern. You can detect this by running your fingers around the circumference of the tyre where you will be able to detect high spots on one side of the tread block compared to the other.

Fingers crossed you won't have the same issue going forward as you have had it all set up Thumbs Up Kev

Well I may swap the front and rear tyres over to extend their life anyway.

No wonder it was eating the rear tyres. They were well out! 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
