Hi All, My v8 is getting the red triangle warning light performance restricted on and off and the engine management light sometimes, The car is 2010 v8 and runs really good although because of all short journeys and only doing 2500 in last 12 months since last service i think the issue is egrs valves so i am thinking of buying some cleaner, is there anything i can spray in the inlet pipes or do the egr valves need removing and cleaning which i have done on other cars but not this as it looks a big job. Can anyone recommend a solution to the fault code and possible remedies? Cheers

I would hazard a guess and say he only way to cure it is to replace the valve especially if the engine has a few miles on it. Had this issue on mine a couple of years ago. It's not as much a problem on the V8 compared to the V6, but what I would say is,, if you decide to go down the replacement route,,, do both valves,, as you can bet your last dollar that if one has failed the other will follow close behind. I speak of experience g and doing both at once will actually save you a few quid. 2010 RRS, TDV8

Yes 2010 with 112000 on, fault code with my obd reader is P0405 egr sensor A low circuit. Car drives fine which is strange i would have thought the valve would be stuck open or shut so it would effect the drive, I usually go to Jas Landrover in York who are brilliant but fully booked until end of January so im looking for a garage abit closer to south yorkshire if anyone knows an Indy who really know what they’re doing. Not sure on cost either for both egr valves what did you pay gogsy if you dont mind me asking?

Yes Andy I dont trust anyone else thats why i drive there and back twice for repairs just because of how professional they’re, unless someone can tell me theres another garage in yorkshire just as good.
