Instrument Cluster

2009 2.7 Sport

Hi. My instrument cluster keeps switching off whilst driving so i have no speed or anything coming on. I am assuming there must be a fault with it. If i bought a second hand one and replaced it with mine would it work no issues or would the car need connecting up to a computer?

Thanks

you would need to have it reprogrammed to your car and save all the info from your previous panel there are people on here who have had them repaired on here try searching Thumbs Up

I think it contains the immobiliser code
so if you fit a replacement the car won't start (until its been recoded)

James1974 on the disco3 forum can do it for you or there is a wealth of knowledge on there to do it yourself.

I had similar symptoms on mine. I sent it away to instrument cluster uk and they repaired it successfully. no reprogramming required this way

Was an early symptom of this bits of illumination flickering? I ask because my 'mph' word flickers from time to time.. and planned repairs are better than 'oh balls none of the clocks work anymore' repairs! Smile 2014 BMW 530d Touring, 2006 BMW 650i, 2018 Mini Cooper S

It had a slight flicker off then on. Then it would switch off all together for a long period
