Just as a matter of interest (as I am thinking of getting one sometime), what would the GAP IID tool tell you in these circumstances? Robin

Rear Sensor problem

I see in your Video re taking off the rear bumper, you mention you have upgraded the rear lights on your 2006 Sport - I quite fancy doing that. Is it a reasonable easy procedure? Andrew Kennedy

I got mine from Powerful UK. I'm sure other suppliers are available!

https://www.powerfuluk.com/vehicles/range-...itted.html

They're just plug and play. But you do need to buy a couple of reflectors for MoT purposes (I guess that similar rules apply in France as well). I stuck the reflectors on the bumper.

Even though its raining here I'll pop out and take a picture for you. Robin

Again Powerful UK have a video covering changing them (just two screws). But you should buy the ones with the resistor built in (as per the link). Note mine is a 2008 model but they fit 2005 - 2009. Robin

Robin. Thanks for going out in the rain for the pixs!! Just checking. The URL you gave me show rear lights for a 2012 (Range Rover Sport 2012 Spec Rear LED Lights Upgrade Kit (Resistors Fitted). These are the ones you ordered? You have a 2006 Sport and they fitted without any problem?.....When they say "Resistors Fitted" what exactly does that mean. Is the change over something quite easy to carry out - something I might be able to do in my garage. Andrew Kennedy

No problem.

The Powerful UK kit is to upgrade your 2005 - 2009 RRS to 2012 specification rear lights. They are identical in shape and so are a direct replacement. These are the ones I fitted.

You just undo the 2 screws on each light which are accessible once you open the boot, then pull the light unit straight back, unplug the light unit harness, then refit the new one.

The resistor must included as the replacement units are LED bulbs which draw less current and so will mess about with the indicated flasher speed. By including the resistor this stops any problems occurring. See here:

Yes, it is very easy to carry out. 5 minutes maximum per light and just two screws and a wire plug.

Whilst you are at it, you might like to consider the purchase of some security screws for your lights. Apparently, and quite how I don't know, RRS rear lights are very easy to steal. So the purchase of these will make them that much harder to nick.

See this thread and ask ADY555 if your interested
