When my screen was changed the fitter commented that he could detect no difference between Jaguar labelled and non-labelled varieties. His view was that they all come from the same place. Tim
RRS sold and replaced with a Skoda Kodiaq after appalling RR Dealer experience and LR inability to supply new cars in any sort of reasonable time frame..

As with everything these days you pay a premium for the
same items made in the same factories depending on the
branding you opt for..

They said the same to me the screen still takes two of them to
lift it into place as its so heavy due to the thickness of it..

I am happy with mine, but if I had a £80k motor I would
probably insist on the JLR one, if I didn't mind spending the extra.. ===========================================

I know it is Off Topic with the OP but on topic with the gist of the latest posts here. My recent replacement headlamp from a retailer supplying Hella head lamps cost £466 delivered. The identical one from LR (made by Hella) is around £1200. And of course if I'd asked LR to replace it, there would have been at least half an hours labour added to that for what is a 5 minute job. Some mark up eh? Robin

I had a nightmare Autoglass swapped my screen in my 18MY had to wait for a RR branded one plus had to escalate as they were going to leave me with a hole in my windscreen as i was going away and they didnt have an appointment. Then after 2 appointments and recalibrating the ADAS etc, a few weeks later i got loads of dash errors about headlights, forward alert etc. After racking up £500+ in bills at Knutsford dealership getting it sorted i then had to complain to Autoglass and to be fair they refunded me the dealers invoice and my excess.

Nightmare and shows how involved a screen replacement is on these.

On a newish warranty car I'd still insist on the JLR branded screen, but others are right the Pilkington OEM screens are identical to the JLR branded Pilkington screens.

If they're not Pilkington at all then they're not OEM and I wouldn't know how that would work.

Two glass companies I recommend;

https://www.glassdoctors.co.uk/ (glass repair)

and

https://www.glasstecauto.co.uk/ (windscreens)

Both really know their stuff when it comes to glass!! Non JLR Vehicle

Had my 5th screen fitted last year by Autoglass. The first 4 were JLR OEM since the car was less than 3 years old as per Admiral policy. Last screen was not OEM but still Pilkington (who supply JLR). It’s an identical screen except that Pilkington cover over the Range Rover logo with a black patch! Autoglass did a good job each time. 2014 RRS AB Santorini Black
