They do look very smart, it's just that I am very wary of changing anything from standard although improved ride comfort is appealing.

Do you ever have issues with DSC applying itself on round-abouts? There seem to be many stories of this happening.

I'm interested that you said that there are many stories of this happening. I know that forum member MEC had an issue which he documented here but I am unaware of any other members having a problem.

In addition, there are people who have fitted oversized wheels to the L320 which also increase the rolling circumference without DSC issues. I must admit, it isn't my cup of tea and there have been issues with un-damped steering racks causing vibrations on the early L320s, but not DSC issues as far as I'm aware.

No DSC issues on ours - just gone from 275/45/20 to 265/60/18 on compomotive pd1881. Car handles better, goes better, speedo reads more accurately and looks better in my opinion.
Its also now cleaner so I may even get a picture this weekend.

If within the reasonable tolerance of size that the system is built with there is zero reason for a tyre size change to cause eroneous TC action. however if a sensor is malfunctioning not failed then a change in operating range could cause issues. what I mean by that is if a sensor is on the way out then it may not perform to spec at the extremes of its range.
If you look at the possible sizes in the CCF there are a great many and the system can cope with them fine but like most things sensors are starting to age on these cars so their performance will not be "box fresh" anymore 2012 SDV6 HSE (technically its hers)

I found 4 instances of people having issues with larger tyres than standard on the RRS; only one of these used the 255 55 20 size tyre as mentioned in this Forum. The other cases were unspecified “larger tyres”. These problems were specifically DSC related when cornering.
As mentioned above, issues with cars may be down to old sensors, poor maintenance etc. The state of the car/maintenance record wasn’t mentioned in the cases I read about.

I really fancy doing this modification myself using the 5 spoke (thong) wheel but I want to know that if I buy new wheels/tyres, everything will run smoothly. I’ll let you know if I take the plunge...

If it helps, my 2010 came with 255/50 x 20s, changed to 275/45 x 21s, no issues at all, even before I used IID to change wheel and tyre dimensions/sizes. 2010 3.6 TDV8 HSE (Gone)

Will do Thumbs Up

I know he has lots of different ones in stock. All genuine LR.

Just to explain what the deal is here in case anyone is wondering. The guy works for a local prestige car dealership specialising mainly in RRS and FFRR under 3 years old. When they get them in, they remove the wheels, fit black 22s, do a few little tweaks and upgrades before they are then sold on. Hence, they have a huge stock of original wheels and tyres. Kev

Australia 2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Bonatti Grey

Hi guys from downunder.
I have had these 20"wheels on my 2006 RRS S/C for a couple of years. Mine have Pirelli Scorpion 255/55/20 tyres as a standard fitting from the L494 model.
Background was when I got the RRS it had 22"wheels and 40 profile tyres Had some balancing issues only to find out 2 of the rims were cracked.
Found the L494 wheels at a dealer that had been swapped for 22"s at a first service [only 1000 klms on them].
Felt sorry for the L494 owner . Especially when he couldn't source snow chains for them.
Yes they fit very nicely but I am surprised that they are giving a correct speedo reading as mine are doing 109 Kph when the speedo only shows 100 Kph. Surprised
I have just fitted some smaller 19" rims with 255/55/19 Pirelli ATR tyres for a trip to the Outback and they are spot on at 100 kph.
P.s. Nice tyres - hardly any road noise. 2006 4.2 S/C with Tow Pack, Side Steps, DRL's, 19" & 20" wheels, additional 110 ltr Fuel Tank Roof Rack and performance mods.

1952 Rover 75 (Cyclops) First Car !!! Fond memories -was restored-good for 93mph.
