Hi All,

Well i have had chance to look at the issue properly now and can confirm that it was the retaining spring in off side rear hub must not have been seated properly and allowed the cable to detach from the lever.

Had a good look at he module but the screws look to be too far gone to unscrew, certainly from underneath. (see pic)


i noticed that the rear brake lines are very corroded so i will need these replacing very soon.Also ACE pipes could do with replacing looking at the condition of the front ones....

my initial thoughts were to lift the body to allow access to the module and replace the screws with new, hence no new module required, and also replace the brake lines at the same time. i can hire a two post lift by the hour / day so i would expect to need it from Friday night through to all day Sunday to complete.


is this a sensible approach or are there other ways?

I would give those heads a clean with a brush, then squirt with penetrating oil and leave for a while and then have a go at undoing them. The moulding is plastic so the rusty screws can’t corrode into badly. 2012 5.0 SC AB
