That looks like the rear differential to me. Hopefully someone with a bit more knowledge than me can shed a bit more light but does the ACE pipework which is a know weak point run above the rear diff? |

Yes, after some googling I believe it is the rear diff. I tried feeling above it and I’d say it’s dry but the fact that the front part of the two circled areas has a drip did make me think something could be dripping onto it.

Big expensive job? Is there a chance the whole diff needs replaced or just the seal? |

It depends where it is actually leaking from to be honest. It may be leaking from the seals where the driveshafts or prop connect into which would be a simpler/cheaper job. See what your mechanic says. Kev

Needs washing off, a quick drive and recheck to see where it's leaking from

Have you had any feedback on the vibration? I have exactly the same symptoms. It's only slight, but it can be annoying. Kev MY2014 L405 RR Vogue SE 4.4 SDV8 in Corris Grey MY2010 L320 RRS HSE 3.0 TDV6 in Stornoway Grey |

The garage has said that the leak is from the rear diff seal. I left it with them to repair. The vibration mentioned in another post was cured by changing the front discs, pads and a calliper.
