Is this to turn them on permanently? If it is, it will drive you insane!! 2012 5.0 SC AB

My previous daily (2016 Skoda Superb) used to turn on the front sensors if you were under a certain speed and they sensed something (in other words, they were on all the time really, it just switched on the display & audio).. used to drive me bonkers 2014 BMW 530d Touring, 2006 BMW 650i, 2018 Mini Cooper S |

What year is yours? You can fit an earlier control unit to prefacelift cars.

What happens in nose to tail traffic? Would you need to leave a big gap to stop them going off? 2012 5.0 SC AB

As Andy says - same experience in the Skoda .. no idea how it could tell the difference between "car in front" and "bollard!" - unless it also used the forward facing radar (adaptive cruise) and/or forward facing camera (lane assist/road sign recognition)? But yeah, in stop-start traffic, lorries in the next lane would often make it start beeping (the Skoda also had side facing sensors for the self-parking feature), and then it wouldn't shut up until I was doing >~8mph or so, or I hit the button. I was always torn between turning "Auto parking sensors" off (which was just a user switchable menu option on that car) and not, as on occasion it would remind me of a low bollard/high kerb and the car was on PCP ... 2014 BMW 530d Touring, 2006 BMW 650i, 2018 Mini Cooper S |

RRS owners don’t want to have to press buttons. |
