Air compressor


Hi,
Ive just taken the wheel off my range rover sport and noticed the bolts for the bracket holding the air compressor arent tight... is this normal? ive attached some pics,

They are on shock/silent mounts so should be tight but only to stop them undoing but not so the whole thing is rigid. 2012 5.0 SC AB

As per previous replies,, the rubber mounts should be securely fixed at each side,,, it's the rubber itself that provides the antivibration element. If the securing bolts were loose the whole unit would tend to jump about. 2010 RRS, TDV8
bali Blue / colour coded
side steps / flappy paddles
black perforated leather
22" overfinch
heated everything, TV,fridge ...... now with gold calipers and mud flaps !( black mud flaps that is) !!
Many years ago,,,,, 1955 series 1 landie , sometimes wish I had kept it

That's a AMK compressor and looks to me as the rubber mounts are shot, used to be able to get a mounting repair kit which had new rubber mountings, springs, washers etc. in it. Not sure if still available as expect L/R will want to sell you a new compressor assy. for a few hundred quid. BMW and Merc use amk so might be able to get something from them. If you could see that with just taking the wheel off, then the plastic cover is missing as well, 2006 car would probably been a Hitachi comp. originally and has been replaced by the AMK and the covers are completely different so probably never fitted a new one at something like £100+ for a couple of bits of plastic.
