New HST mild hybrid model

Hi RRS team !

I am trying to find out 2 things and the dealers as usual round my way don’t know and can’t be bothered to find out !

Trying to get a test drive of the new mild hybrid model. Does anybody know a dealer who has an HST demonstrator running ?

Also has anyone any information on when this mild hybrid engine might be release in AB form please ?

Thanks Rowdie

It was the same with the 3.0 V6 Supercharged in the L405 (not sure about the Sport) in the UK market and perhaps others. It only came in Vogue SE... not Vogue... not AB! Confused

Are they trying to create a new market for themselves without cannibalising their existing 5.0 market whilst also reducing their CO2 average across the range. Perhaps the profit margins on 5.0 S/C are crazy nuts high, and the margins on the straight 6 mild hybrid are a bit.... a bit tight. Not sure. Or maybe they have a shortage of components and use an HST trim to eek out extra profit (I presume the flashy editions to HST are peanuts in cost of production)... but then why not also AB?? I think it's daft and made all the more painful by the HST being so footballery. They should be celebrating the new powertrain and offering it at all trim levels. It's a bit one step forward, 1 back.

Oh, for a seat on their board! Big Cry L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso
RRS TDV6 HSE Lux (MY2011)... Nara Bronze / Arabica - now gone!

According to the UK configurator, the mild hybrid straight six is now available as HSE and HSE Dynamic as well as HST. Current: 2020 P400e HSE Dynamic

Gone: 2016 SDV6 HSE
2012 SDV6 SE

The specification in the add would indicate that it is.

Naks,

I believe that 2.0l petrol engine is pretty good and doesn't suffer the issues of the diesel version.
I hesitated on buying the P400e on the basis that the battery range is low and then the car is being hauled by a fairly small engine. Well that was my logic for choosing the P400, 3l and 390 bhp Wink

I hear you Tim.

My rationale for going MEHV is that we work from home, and most of our driving will be in the city (Porto): going to shops, etc., so the EV part will basically take care of that, while when we want to tour the country/EU, the ICE part will be used.

And I still get to off-road Thumbs Up

but the car prices in PT are just shocking Shocked --

Also, what are the implications of driving a V8 around Europe? Am I likely to get my car keyed/scratched/egged on?

Or a diesel even? --
