Or rather wot, no dipsitck. Infact what dipstick decided not to include manual oil level check on the V6 diesel....I've never come across this before.

Going on a lengthy trip in a few days so decided to check all fluids etc, and was searching for a good 5 minutes for the dipstick. Now I knew there was an electronic level check, just as on a BMW Z4 I had a few years ago, but unlike on the Z4 which had a manual level check the Sport doesn't. How bloody ridiculous.

I've done a bit of reading and what a palava if you want to change your own oil, which I have always done. Words fail me

I don't think you get an automatic notification it's low!!!

So you best check it.

Because you can't check the oil level when putting it back in as east with out a dipstick

I had read that it may be necessary to go through a calibration of the level sensor. ( from the land rover service manual). However that may not be the case for most changes.

You had better hope the oil level sensor is working as it is a "body off" job to get access to replace it. It took my dealer 3 days to replace mine! Under warranty, thank goodness.
