Hired a boat on the Norfolk Broads for a week in the excellent weather.
400 mile round trip.
On the way back had a 5 minute stop. once restarted the viscous fan was engaged all the time. I drove 5 mile with it constantly blowing, engine temp down to only a quater. stopped at a services and left for 15 minutes. then all ok. Usuall landy querks.
Question is
Is it possible to service the fan on the RRS (supercharged)
How easy to replace (anyone with instructions) may buy the spanner and a fan unit for a spare ( as i periodically do 3000 mile round trips around europe, the fan kills power and MPG)

doing a bit more digging and found this on the disco 3 site, anyone know if the same system is on the 4.2 rrs
Possibly no fan required, could just be an electrical gremlin, fixed by the greatest tool in a rrs toolbox;
"turn off engine remove key, re insert turn engine back on"

the A/C switch and the A/C pressure sensor.

The speed of the cooling fan is also influenced by
vehicle road speed. The ECM adjusts the speed of the
cooling fans, to compensate for the ram effect of vehicle
speed, using the Controller Area Network (CAN) road
speed signal received from the Anti-lock Braking
System (ABS) module.

- I have had the control cable re-terminated and that did not fix the fault. I'm about to replace the fan. Is that what you did? 2022 P440e AB

It was the supercharger coolant pump wired the wrong way round. Search for my posts and there is a quick how to.

Thing is; the whooshing coming out of my car sounds like the fan at all speeds; not just climbing at 80 mph...

And the car was not serviced for months before we noticed the problem.

Nonetheless, have you any idea how your car came to be incorrectly wired? It wasn't built like that was it? 2022 P440e AB

Most of them were incorrectly wired when built. On mine the fan kept comming on as the sc was getting warm.

Hi new to this so apols if already covered, just spent 45 mins searching and came across this thread. How did you guys get on with your issues - I have the same thing and need some advice please. My fan whooshes occasionally upon first start up and it will only stop if I stop turn off and then turn on again - very annoying. Any share of experience and advice greatly appreciated.

The viscous fan should come on at start up. Then goes off after approx 15 to 30 seconds after. If it is on continually it may be a faulty fan or sensor engaging the fan.
My issue was when the vehicle driven over long distances in high temperature, the sc coolant pump was incorrectly wired, so it was not sufficiently moving the coolant around to remove the heat from the sc.
New pump wired correctly fixed my issue MY12 RRS HSE
Gone 4.2 supercharged RRS
Gone 90
Gone s2000

also worth selecting the eco mode on the climate control for 1 minute and see if the fan slows down
