Totally agree on pricing, JLR are getting their fingers burnt with the velar, every dealer I have been to over the last 8-10 weeks has at least 2or3 in stock plus 2 in the showroom, my sales guy told me off the record, they are having to heavily discount/overallow on trade ins to get any sales of them. This has never happened before on a new JLR product but they seem to have massively over estimated demand! Some bargains out there in a few months for pre reg sales I would think! If you like them anyway!

Wales 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Lux Sumatra Black

The SVR Velar when out will evidently only be £100 cheaper than the equivalent 2018 RRS SVR Rolling with laughter
It's basically going to be the same as new Jag Pace? SVR, shown in this weeks AutoExpress magazine.

I think JLR have completely lost the plot, they cannot put the RRS up much more or that will kill sales, they seem to be giving away large discounts on the Velar now just to shift what's already built.
Hatfields group won't be ordering any more Velar from JLR unless it's against a paid for order, hardly unlikely, and are offering a extra 10% trade in against them plus up to 10% discount model dependant, but won't sell any now on PCP, due to final price not going to be realistic, as very big falls expected. WBAC give £22,000 off of the new MY17 price for trade in MY17 with less than 8k miles and mint condition. (Generally less when you try to sell).

How can JLR sell two cars at same pricing bands, when one, the Velar is smaller, cheaper looking, poorer comfort and generally with less power etc? (Hatfields GM comment) Whistle John

RRS MY12 SDV6 HSE. Sumatra Black/Ebony & Walnut + Dynamic Pack, + Cold Climate Pack + Memory Pack, Digital TV/DVD, Premium Leather, Cornering Lights, Cooler/Fridge Box, & most Options.

I think i'm starting to side with RRSman, every forum topic on here seems to turn into a Velar bashing (or the other hot topic that everyone is going to die when interest rates go up)

not that I don't agree as I don't like the Velar as much either if you compare it to an RRS, especially MY18.

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

According to a dealer manager I have spoken to recently Velar is a complete turn-off to existing owners of LR/RR, they are sticking to Sport/FFRR but the sales they have had have (apart from one former RRS owner) been to new to brand buyers but even to them it is a hard car to sell 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

Really i thought the Velar was selling well. Some one i know has to wait a few months and was asked for a £10k deposit.
They are not for me and i agree they are over priced if as John says the Velar SVR will be close to the Sport SVR thats just crazy because at the end of the day the Sport is a genuine Range Rover not some Jaguar in a frock. SVR 2018 in Santorini Black.
