Well like I said to the Mrs maybe it's the fob battery knackered and the two front doors never locked I mean I never actually checked if they were locked after pressing the button

If I take the key apart and check the voltage in the battery it will rule out that atleast correct? Or no |

Well I managed to split my fob case without damaging it (poor previous fix by someone) and the battery wasn't connected on one side little temporary solder fix and it's working again

If you open the key you can test the battery yes, but the voltage on the battery doesn't dictate if the key works or not. You will also need to order a new case if you open the key, but before doing that, see if your local garage has a key tester, that will tell you if the key is emiting a signal and takes seconds to do.
