Look for the additional reservoir under bonnet on left with yellow cap. Embossed on cap is a car with an arrow either side to denote roll. Visitor from fullfatrr.com

According to the sales brochure for Q3 2009, ie for 2010MY facelift cars, the TDV6 HSE has Dynamic Response as standard for UK spec cars. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Was it normal to still have the switch to turn off stability control even if it wasn't fitted? I have a 2005 HSE I don't have the active bars, or reservoir, but the icon on the dash lights up then goes out, and it has the switch that activates the light on the dash, and the message centre says stability control off. There's no evidence of it being fitted and removed at any time. |

Stability control is standard across the range. This is DSC for Dynamic Stability Control and is switchable by the driver from the dashboard. Note that it never fully switches off when the button is pressed.

DSC is a safety device that,IIRC, is now required to be on all cars - it is supposed to cut engine power when it detects severe steering inputs, throttle inputs and/or heavy braking and reduce the chances of an accident...... There are circumstances like in mud or deep snow when you need to over-ride DSC because you want to keep power on when making severe steering inputs and not have the computer intervening. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Thanks for the explanation, I often wondered what it was, never had it on the D2. |
