Hunt for RRS

Hey guys,

I am looking for RRS autobiography MY 2011-2013

I noticed the diesels come in TDV6 245bhp or SDV6 255bhp

Previously owned RRS MY 2006 TDV6 but very slow. How much of a difference will I get from the newer models?

Which one would you guys recommend and why?

Would you recommend a remap?

Anything I should look out for?

I welcome all views

Sonny

I think the SDV6 came out in the second half of 2012, I believe I had one of the first at the time. I then also had a 2010 TDV6 D4 which is essentially the other engine just in a different body.

The TDV6 will feel better than your older 2.7 for sure, but the advantage of the SDV6 is that you get the 8 speed gearbox, which is definitely smoother and better at motorway speeds. You'll also get the rotary gear selector as opposed the the conventional 'stick'.

The only way really is for you to test drive both, I'm sure you won't be disappointed with either, but I think the SDV6 will be your preference.

Remaps for these sorts of cars for me are about ironing out some of the irregularities of the power delivery, personally I think that both cars I had were very good, 'out of the box' so I never felt the need for a remap, but I'm sure others that have had it done will offer up their benefits.

Thanks for the reply.

Another thing I wanted to ask was, do either of these engine have cambelts or are they chain?

I have heard people saying that later models are BMW engines??

the SDV6 3.0 certainly has a cambelt, which needs changing at 7 years or 105k miles. Merc C220 estate Sport AMG

The best one to go for I would say is a 2013 Black Edition if it is within your budget.

It was the run out model and was loaded with "free" extras. 2023 P440e SE Dynamic on order -cancelled

Check out the dealers in Scotland, some fantastic deals to be had. My last 2 cars came from there they seem to tick more option boxes than the lease cars down here. Low mileage, dealer FSH and different colours than Black.....

Have a look at the following links:

The first is the EXEL spreadsheet for all the options of the 2010MY. It lists the standard fitments & specs of the various models:
Click Save (or save as) then open.

http://www.rrsport.co.uk/gallery/albums/us...282%29.xls

Also the following is the 2010MY brochure. Unfortunately it only lists the TDV8 & Supercharged versions but is worth a look:
Opens automatically in a new window.

http://www.rrsport.co.uk/gallery/albums/us...ochure.pdf I'm in the shed, I'll be back in the real world in a minute.

Gone- 2010 TDV6; Hello 2017 SDV6.
