Thanks nige, that's a neat bit of kit, but pricey like you say. . I'm not convinced though that'll lower enough for me to be able to lift my kayak on to it. 80+lbs is a lot for me to lift, even if only to waist height when there's a only one handle on the kayak.

Please mind, nothing better than Thule slidebar for a heavy Kajak. Worth the invest.

It's a Hobie Outback, one of the best fishing platforms (if you like pedalling rather than paddling) but unfortunately a rather heavy one. |

Thanks for the response, but that still requires me to dead lift 80lb+ (32kg) over my head and I'm simply not capable of that. |

No, I put first the nose of the kayak on top of one bar (backend sits on the ground), so you pull up only 60% of the wight.

I went for the hobie outback kayak because it has the pedal drive rather than paddle. Means I can fish with both hands whilst still moving along. But, it's heavy!. |

I've got the roof bars and land rovers canoe/kayak mounts but it difficult to mount even with 2 people let alone 1 just to high even in access mode so I went for a trailer..
