Intermittent 'suspension fault'

This light comes on every now and again, usually on first start of the car. If i turn the engine off and back on at the next set of traffic lights the warning light goes away. Occasionally it flashes red and tells me to not drive more than 30mph. the red is on long enough that i can read the message and then disappears.

sometimes the orange warning light goes off by itself.

would this point to a dirty sensor? damaged sensor, cracked casing (i've read about those on here)
the 4x4 info screen shows white lines all around and those times when i've measured the height from centre of wheel to arch it has been ok.

thoughts
cheers

I'm having a similar issue and came on to ask the same question. My red light comes on upon alternate starts and on restarting goes away.

No visible faults with anything and the handling is uncompromised..

It could be anything and a diagnostic code reader is what you really need for a proper answer

Mine did the exact same thing 2-3 weeks ago (see the thread) and suddenly left me stranded 300 miles from home with the car slammed to the ground with the red light on and wallowing around in a scary manner at anything above walking pace - the 30mph limit shown on the dash would have felt like a F1 car

My fault was a ride height sensor - if you 're lucky yours will be too

But bottom line is dont ignore it in case it fails completely

Good luck

I had this on my RRS 2006, after changing brake switch, checking altenator and battery etc... and generally pulling my hair out, the answer to my problem of the suspension problem was: steering wheel sensor was at 18% now reset to 0 % and have not had suspension fault registered anymore.....it assumed I was oversterring by 18% causing ' vehicle to lean when cornering ' and then registering the fault which then snowballed and all the other listed faults started.....and breathe!!!!!!

Get your steering wheel senson checked out.
Hope this helps

The car had numerous fault codes on it, my mechanic thinks it's a faulty control box causing causing most, if not all of them. Any ideas? (If you look at my gallery there's a picture I have uploaded)

Had the same fault on mine were the suspension light came on intermittently and various other fauts, I gave the battery a full charge and all was ok, even though I had no other issues like starting up but was told battery never fully charges just by giving it a long drive thats if the battery was low to begin wih. Whistle

If the battery is low it throws up alot of errors and it has to be fully charged with a good trickle battery charger, I used a ctek charger and all is now well Laughing RRS SUPERCHARGED, 22 INCH ALLOYS, JAVA BLACK, FULLY COLOUR CODED
