RRsport alternator help

Hi, had the multimeter on the battery terminals today, with all the lights and heated seats on, and was reading 12.32V. Does this indicate that the alternator is struggling. It's a 2008, RR sport, 2.7 hse. Thanks Adam.

Voltage should read at least 13.4 or so with alternator running at idle speed and load (lights etc.). If you are reading 12.2 you are probably only pulling power from the battery which will not run very long (perhaps 30 mins if not being charged). You can drive car if voltage is >13.4 if you reduce load or run at higher rpm than idle - else battery is probably not charging and will
Die.

Btw - alternator electronics do no like heat from the engine bay - I had to rebuild alternators on my porsche and bmw (both bosch) at around 60k miles - so not unusual for these things to burn out eventually ...lucky you caught it before being stranded on side of road ...
