1, check ou Duckworth Land Rover I'm sure I saw them offering some at discounted prices, no you don't need any software upgrades, might need fault codes checking/clearing though.

1. Cheapest is a compressor refurb kit. Best option is a new AMK compressor. You need to replace the relay when you change the compressor.

The software should be updated for an AMK too. "Flack" on here could do this for you. |

I think the software update merely ignores a temperature sensor that the original compressor had and the AMK doesn't have. Apparently it can throw up an error in some cases if not updated. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Ah, could be that one. I knew there was something like that. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
