My 22's are LR OEM Style 504 and have Continental Crosscontact 275 x40 R22 108Y' on them. I've been very pleased with the even and tiny amount of wear over 12500 miles and also how good the ride comfort is on them, I was expecting from previous Continentals poor wear, lots of noise and hard ride, but those were 20" on an Evoque and in 19"s on a previous RRS and vowed I would never have Conti's again but they seem to have done a major rethink and compound reformulation. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Thanks for the reply Tim,but if I go with the 275/40r22's I'm going to try the vredestein.I was wanting to know if anyone had gone a bit wider like 305's without catching. The SVR has 295/40r22's with no problems.

For info, the SVR has wider rims on a different offset. 305s won't fit without catching - I know this as I ran them on the Spectre cars |

I think you might have trouble finding the 295/45 in 21's or 22's as none of my suppliers do them.

Ive ordered 4x295/40r22's,,Conti's & 4 new TPMS sensors to fit on my 22" Hawke alloys. The sensors are off eBay £75 for 4 & they are LR compatible.Ive taken my 275/35r22's off which are pirellis all with 5mm plus as the load rating is 106 & the L494 are 108 so if anyone is interested in the 22" Pirellis all with even wear,,I'll take £90 each for them.if collected I'll fit free of charge.

Make sure that you have the right TPMS sensors, there are two types - one for L320's and another for L494's as the TPMS systems are different. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Yep those are the right sensors for the cars built after the requirement for TMPS to be fitted as standard came in. The other sort didn't register tyre pressures only flagged up a warning if you had a puncture........... As much use as a chocolate teapot! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

The clearance to be concerned about is the distance between wheel and suspension on the front, 4 mm with standard 22 factory, so adding 10mm in width would be an issue I would think. M16 SVD8 ,4.4 HSE with a few extras, Sold R50 , Wife SQ5 , BMW R1200GSW. |

Hence my comment earlier in the thread about different wheel offsets on the SVR which runs 295s |

The offset on mine is 45 & rim width 9.5 were as the original wheels are 49,with the 295's their is 5mm+inbetween tyre & strut.
