2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Maya Gold

BATTERY - parking problem

I have a 2009 Sport. A new battery was fitted 12 months ago approx. I need to park-up at an airport for possible eight weeks and I think I could have a problem!! I have noticed parked and locked in the garage, the battery needs charging about every 4/5 weeks to keep it in good order for starting. Any tips about leaving the car for a long period of time and finding the battery ok on my return? Andrew Kennedy

get a solar charger, connect through the lighter socket. works for my boat.

Does this need any change to wiring or can you charge through the lighter socket with ignition off?

Not sure if the lighter socket is permanent live, which to charge through it should be. They do (on this site) a changing plug that fits into the trailer electric socket, you could use that then leave the panel in the rear window......

No doubt someone with all the relevant technical knowledge will come along soon and give us all the SP.
