Timed climate

I activated timed climate last night using the IID Tool and all looked great. Set it to come on at 07:25 today and it didn't, when I went back into the option on the screen in the car it is visible but is now greyed out. Very frustrating.

Car has lots of diesel and battery seems fine.

Any ideas anyone?

Were you stationary when you saw the option greyed out? It is disabled while driving so you don't get distracted trying to set the timer.

Regarding it not coming on as programmed, I think you need to leave the heating on Auto when switching off the car. Not 100% sure if that is absolutely necessary - mine is always on auto aircon and timed climate & RPH just work unless when the battery is a bit low. Worth trying this anyway.

When it works, you are able to hear the FBH running before starting the car and the top light on the climate control dial flashes. Timed climate and RPH auto switch off after 20 minutes.

I vaguely remember I had to change 3 settings using IIDTool when enabling RPH but don't know about timed climate as it was already unlocked on mine. However, I would have thought if you can see the option on the screen and set the timer it can't be a CCF issue. Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top

I had a similar problem when I did mine.

As well as activating the timed climate you also have to change the fuel burning heater (FBH) from standard to Park Heating in the CCF, otherwise you get the icons on the screen but nothing happens when you set the timer.

If you have fitted the remote heating equipment that will ned to be activated separately also, HVAC Heat/Cool FBH Call start.

Hope this helps.

Thanks fkarim and jeffhunt, all this helps me to learn.

GAP have been great and sent me the following information:

IIDTool Menu->Car Config->HVAC Ventilation->FBH Call Start is equal to fitted radio This is the one related to the remote.
IIDTool Menu->Car Config->HVAC Ventilation ->Fuel Burning Heater is equal to fitted parking heat
IIDTool Menu->Car Config->HVAC Ventilation ->Timed Climate is equal to enable

After getting these three set correctly I could see the Timed Climate menu and set the time. Now it is visible but greyed out all the time. I have only tried it when parked, without the engine running but with the ignition on. Climate was set to Auto.

Any ideas anyone?

I know that the manual heat options are greyed out if you turn the ignition on, you have to leave the start button alone, and just press the radio on button, they then appear (un-greyed out).

As for the timed climate, I've had no problems setting the timer and it activating.

Question I'll have a look around. If I find anything i'll get it up on here for you.

Spot on, I got the same information from GAP about 30 minutes ago but thanks anyway. The reason that I could see it in the menu sometimes and not at others is because sometimes I had the ignition on.

The problem now is that when I set the timer the FBH doesn't come on. I was pretty sure that the FBH was working with the engine running because I had a right stink in the cabin when the weather came cold, I though the car was on fire but it cleared after 20 minutes or so. Not so sure now. How can I test it?

You can use the service function of the IID Tool for the FBH from the AHCM-auxillary heater control

Feature Supported
Auxiliary heater priming routine
Auxiliary heater operation check

Or you could have a look at the live values.
Are any fault codes showing?

This should (I think as I have not had to do it myself) prime the heater or start it depending on the option you choose. Worth a try.

Take a look here for all options.

Hope this helps.

OK, it appears that my FBH is not working, the IID Tool shows me fault code:

U3000-49 (6Cool Control module - System internal failure - internal electronic failure

Sounds like a trip to the dealer is needed as car is under warranty unless there is a reset option for this fault code. When I clear the code I still cannot get the FBH to fire up.

That thing above is actually 68 but looks funky.

Sorry to hear that its FUBAR'd,
If no joy from the dealers give Bodsy or Disco_Mikey a PM, they know all about the FBH, and probably have a fix, or know a man who can.
