What oil do you use? TDV6

I've not been too lazy to search. I can see people have their own preferences.
Just want a bit of advice on what would be the best oil for my TDV6 2005, to have in the garage as a top up.

Probally gonna have to be from Halfords I'm afraid![/s]

Hi Land Rover recommend Castrol Edge, but you can get halfords own Ford brand oil. Halfords also recommend Mobile 1 oil.

I use Castrol MAGNATEC 5W-30 A1 fully synthetic, but I know you can also buy the C3. I really don't know if there's any fundamental difference between the two, I just bought the A1 because it's what Castrol recommended for my make/model/year. Recently bought a 2007 RRS HSE TDV6 for a Pimp-My-Ride-Project.
DONE: Meduza front bumper, AB rear bumper, AB tailpipes, calipers repainted, rear upper tailgate upgrade, side steps, AB front grille, AB side vents, rear LED lights, clear side repeaters, integrated daytime running lights, LED headlights.
TO DO: color code sills and pillars.

Land Rover originaly speced 5w30 semi synthetic in the first Rrs tdv6 none dpf models.
Dpf are subject to the c3 low saps oil.

Edited cos I went on one.....

Good point Rich, the DPF was introduced after 2010 and C3 spec is a low ash formulation for DPF cars. This is probably why Castrol advised me to buy the 5W-30 A1. Recently bought a 2007 RRS HSE TDV6 for a Pimp-My-Ride-Project.

So am I right in thinking a 2005 doesn't have a dpf?
