United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black
Wet Passenger floor

Today I removed the floor mats to hover out the footwells and noticed that the passenger side front carpet was soaked through, the rear was slightly damp on this side as well. Drivers side fine.

The car is a late 2007 3.6TDV8 HSE with no sunroof.

That last bit is important because my search online for solutions just seems to mention sunroof drain tubes.

Anyway door seals look fine, at least no sign of damp from the inside.

Anyone any ideas?

Yes check the a.c drains but I recently had this issue and I found that in heavy rain or when parked down hill the water come in the bottom hole on the A pillar. The outer trim finisher has the clips that hold it on - they go in small round holes but at the bottom the hole is elongated where a positioning moulding goes in and this lets water in.

There was a service bulletin on this - see here you will have to register

It was the hole at the bottom of the A-Pillar that was letting the water in. Now fixed and dry, details on Technical Bulletin LS501-006.

Hi Guys,
What surprised me was that ICMarshall's car is a 2007 but the service bulletin is dated August 2005.
So 2 years after identifying a problem LR had not fixed it on the production line.
A bit slack from my point of view.
I wonder if it was fixed by the time they produced my 2011 RRS?

Aargh.
This has happened to me today. Front passenger footwell is sodden. And the back passenger side is also wet. When i opened front passenger side door water actually poured out. Its been raining hard for 8 hours today.

Sunroof seems fine and drivers side footwell is dry.
So must be the exterior a pillars.
How do i remove these?
And is it enough to use some sealant at the bottom area or better off taking it to a LR dealer here in Finland and see what they say?
2006 model. So surprising this wasn't fixed years ago?? 2019 RRS P400e Autobiography

Pakolainen, if you haven't already done so, please check your sunroof and drainage channels and tubes, as this is the most common fault for getting the wet floor-wells. This may not be the cause but it is the first check to do IMO. Once ruled out, then check the window seal and co ear as mentioned above.
Let us know how you get on, this fault should have been picked up at LR a Service Centres, as they do on official print outs state that they have checked for all updates having been done, and any new ones still to fullfill, this doesn't include updating of Maps for the navigation. Which 2016 can now be purchased on line, and uploaded by yourself by the slow dongle method of updating.

Cheers Johnski,
should there be any 'give' in the sunroof? - when fully close if i push up from inside the cabin there is a few mm's of movement?
The exterior A pillars seem to be loose - in that they wobble, not massively but there is movement.

Guess i will be checking it all out. 2019 RRS P400e Autobiography

United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Cairns Blue

Hi, it was the slot in the a pillar on mine that was the problem, not the sunroof. I followed the instructions on here and now it is bone dry, when i opened the door it poured out and it took 4-6 weeks to dry out. I put some clear sealant around the replacement clips, plugs when i done the job, don't just fitt them dry or it will not work, just covered the slot with duct tape. Hope this helps, it done mine Thumbs Up Just to add if you open the sunroof and pour water in both the small holes in the front corners, it should run out both sides behind the front wheels. 2007, HSE, Cairnes Blue, Factory tints, Love it !!!

Hi, forgot to say that the foam block becomes full of dust and dirt preventing the water to run out, it then back fills up to the slot and in. Don't forget to remove the foam block when you do this Thumbs Up 2007, HSE, Cairnes Blue, Factory tints, Love it !!!

Have opened the sun roof and the spacing around that was all dry, inserted a straw in the drainage holes and blew - no resistance. and the internal roof shutter for the sunroof is dry.
Pillars next, which requires getting the replacement plugs - so visiting a LR store here and trying to explain, or the Ebay route.

Apologies for my ignorance but given this was a service bulletin, are LR providing this A pillar fix for water ingress free of charge?

Evening.
Anyone able to say if the exterior Apillarclips can be boughtfrom ebay? I can find A pillarips but then they all say interior only.
Have called the local dealer several times but no response.
