Hmmm, I think perhaps you drive a bit too closely if the closest setting isn't close enough... Rolling with laughter

The system uses radar I think so perhaps yours is slightly mislined if it throws spurious lane issues? Wouldn't need to be more thank a gnat's pube out to pick up stuff to the side 50 yards ahead. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

It's not me driving too close, it's when a car pull back infront of me that cruise slows down till it has enough space, then someone else jumps in too.

Maybe I need to drive faster so people don't over take me???

Works for me - outside lane at humpty miles per hour! Whistle Thumbs Up

The "pull in to my space without indicating mate, please, it's no problem at all, I'll just jump out of your f'ing way" moments are always going to be difficult to deal with. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Maybe it's just me who doesn't know how it works.

Just done a motorway trip and the little icon of the car pops on rev counter but does that mean it's kicking in and braking or just lifted off the throttle?

The sensor gets covered by snow this time of year, which can be annoying.

It's not perfect, but with practise it's a useful tool for long mundane journeys especially 50mph road works. If I ordered a new a new car again I would spec it, I expect because I especially like the collision warnings in normal driving - can be over sensitive (but aren't we all sometimes!) L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... That just means it's noticed something in range of its sensor. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

^^^^ So that doesn't mean it's lifted off the throttle then?

I noticed if I didn't change lanes it put the brakes on when I got pretty close.

On mine the icon lights up about 100yds away from another vehicle in the same lane. If I've got it set to one of the longer distance settings it'll back off the throttle if there is a reasonable closing speed. Braking rarely occurs. If I've got it set to a close following distance then the brake activation is often quite firm. I usually set it to long range initially and the modify the range to suit conditions. I've found that quite fine control can be achieved that way even with both feet off the pedals. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

I assumed when the icon come on (I'd say about the same distance as you have stated) it had started to adapt its speed, hence why when I've go it on the close setting the icon was still lighting up at the same distance.

Maybe I should dig the manual out and read it Rolling with laughter
