That is real bad news C
I am shocked I thought it was a tested fix
The next question would be is there a software mod on the way to go with the transmission re-build, because if you change the type of material on the clutch linings you almost always have to modify the presure
I would guess ZF have gone back to the drawing board then.
Good luck Surprised You don't stop playing because you get old, You get old because you stop playing.

Any updates on the rasp Canaryman? Mine has it pretty bad and they loaded some other software patch which did nothing. RRS TDV6 Bluetooth, VR, Roof

Your symptoms are almost identical than what I have in my D3.
Gearbox in my D3 has also been changed. No change to the noise.

See my thread on the other site:

Impressive sound research on the D3 site arsi!

Best comparison I can come up with is that mine just sounds like a heat shield rattling/ vibrating. It is most noticeable under load and using transmission in Sport mode. It builds up at higher rev ranges, then disappears momentarily as you change up a gear and then reappears. It is least noticeable in 6th gear and most noticeable in 4th and 5th.

I've had so many noises and vibrations, this one is just another..... Thud RRS TDV6 Bluetooth, VR, Roof

Germany 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 SE Cairns Blue

Ok, my man has a bit LR meeting during June. He will meet the new area rep to discuss the rasping problem. He took me out in a LR that has the same problem. I will meet the area rep and discuss the problem with him and try to come to a resolution. LR tried to blame the fuel injectors but we are not convinced and anyway, regardless of the fault, we would like a fix. I have not given up and will let you know of any progress. Wish me luck.

By the way, now the hot weather is here, the female service staff wear less!!! Shocked (That can only be good)

ja

Hunky dorey cobber...seems like old mates not on his pat malone so
now when he has a gander he won't be up the creek and he can point his stealer where to Capn Cook.
With new comic cuts he'll trundle down the track later sweet as a nut with a toothy crack in his dial and it won't cost a zac.

Well it sounds like the old classic RR when the chain was loose in the transfer box and it was hitting the case making a rasping noise.

That reminds me of the thread on here a while ago when I said in my opinion the transfer box was the weak point when people were asking advice on a re-map on TDV8's and I made reference to the massive amount of torque after the re-map.

It will bne interesting to see if there is a later type design or updated transfer box in the near future..

Good luck with your meeting with LR Rep. Lets hope they sort it for you. Thumbs Up You don't stop playing because you get old, You get old because you stop playing.
