Anyone tried wrapping the car...and not around a lamp post!

I fancy a change i have a black rrs with overfinch 22 with ivory leather. I was thinkig of having it wrapped in white, possibly leaving the bonnet or roof black, any ideas or thoughts? Would it look ridiculous too pimped up? thoughts and ideas welcome.

Also is it easy to wash and does it come off easily? RRS

I've heard you have to be careful when cleaning wrapped cars...

and make sure bird sh*t is cleaned off immediately

Other than that it's a cheap option to change your car colour..and always reversible! RRS gone

I think wrapping has come a long way recently, quite a few cars now being done. As awd says, an effective way to change the colour without changing the car or getting a respray.

Not sure your black bonnet on a whit car will look that good IMH though Shocked
Also, White car with Ivory......hmmm, not sure on that either Confused ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

I've often wondered how they manage to finsh the edges off, around the doors for example.
Or do the edges eventually begin to peel away Question

Have always thought that strange Martin, but as you say, apparently as its only 'temporary' you don't need to disclose.

@ Nik - A decent wrap should not peel, at least not for decent amount of time (at least a couple of years if maintained well). I understand it's all down to the prep how well the finished article looks. The one Endjin linked above looks a very high end finish and they have taken the time to remove lights/panels etc. Thumbs Up ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

I bought carbon wrap to do the outside frame of the front grill - pah ! Not easy ! especially around the corners. Even with hair dryer and stretching it looked great to start but lifted in corners within a week ! Going to get it sprayed instead !

If stopped by Police in a wrapped car because their DVLA check came back as a different colour, then just show them the door shuts where the original colour is and insist that as its only a temporary covering the log book don't need updating - but a lot of Police won't know this !

According to this you do have notify the DVLA of any changes to your vehicle http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/Ownin...DG_4022054
How the hell would the police ever find your car if stolen if its registed as a black car and you have had it wrapped white Confused

as the car colour itself isnt actually being changed ady and just covered in effectively what is a sticker it doesnt need changing.

its a bit mental especially since we can now have the door and tailgate shuts done too.
