Aimed at those of us who don't have a paint shop / spray booth can you guys and gals please give some advice on having the callipers painted a nice shiny red? Will dealers do this? Their body shops?

What are the ball park costs of this work if anyone has had it done?

I've noticed many of you have it / mention it, can you also let me know why red? Does this denote ceramic brembos or something?

Advice / knowledge appreciated apologies for all the noob questions  Have i got the busted controller?!?!!?

Do it yourself it's a doddle! All u need is a bit of mild sandpaper, a tin of brake cleaner and a tin of calliper paint in the colour of yor choice, get them all off eBay or halfords but they a bit more expensive. Take yor wheel off, clean the calliper with the cleaner, rub them down lightly, wipe them off and paint them, thin coats , put a few coats on to get them glossy. It won't take long and is easy as cake! Dun mine yellow.

I did mine black and they still look as new

I'm useless at DIY stuff, but I did my calipers, hubs & chassis just with a couple of cans of VHT & hammerite, still looks great ... IMO

Even better if you've got brembos Mr H cos u can get the replacement Brembo decals on eBay cheap as chips n they finish the job off nice. Il not b nipping around to help u tho u live to far ha!

No,he's just painted the hub.Maybe a little overspray on the disk but that wont last long.He's done a cracking job though

Revere! Revere will do it for about £400.00

peronally id get the pros to do it! ive seen ppl do it in the past and stonechips etc crack it. RR Sport supercharged 06

As Mrfixit said i painted the hubs too ... I got quite alot of overspray on the discs but within 2/3 miles they were fine.

your not far from it, I recently had my garage rebuilt I knew all that old timber would come in handy

Think I might well have found a place that will do all callipers and drums for £120, in just about any colour you can think of!

All i need to do now is check the situation with the brembo replacement decals (ie them sorting it) and I've cracked it.

This will save me looking round for some logs to stick the car up on while I crawl under it

I'll keep you lot posted on what sort of job they do if they sound competent when i chat to them, photos to follow  Have i got the busted controller?!?!!?
