Flat Battery

Went to get it out of the garage tonight, turned over a couple of times then died, Flat battery! Not been stood for long as I was out it it 3 days ago.

Any common faults? Checked the rear (upper) boot lid switch as this was the cause last time but it's OK, any ideas?

Charged the battery and its fine now. I'll see how long it lasts this time. Any Ideas appreciated.

Cheers.............Boost

Just the usual, could be a knackard battery, or alternator on it's way out, these batteries are pretty big, 3 days should be a problem.

As above, i would also check leads & earth.

I leave my car constantly for periods of up to 3 weeks and it starts without issue first time every time.

Just a thought, with you putting your car in your garage have you left your courtesy light on or have you left a door open or tailgate ajar Question

Same again tonight Sad But it just managed to start! Connected DVM in series with fuse box battery lead, once stopped and all switched off, 6.5A then it steadily drops to 0.5 A as things go to sleep etc, then a few more minutes and it drops to 0.08A (80mA). I cannot see that being a problem.

Just of to local garage to drop test battery - Hope it's that on it's way out. Just over 4 years old now, still got landrover on the battery so I imagine it's the original one.

based on that your battery would be flat in about 560 hrs (23 days) so my money is on the battery being Censored Smile

Quite correct Very Happy Drop tested battery a few hours ago and it's not good news Sad But on the other hand, I'm relieved it is the battery that is U/S Wink

Right then so where is the best place to buy one, local motor factors or is there some good deals to be had on the WWW?

Thanks for all your advice Thumbs Up

I can't help you on where to get one from but make sure you get the right one and not the cheapest off the shelf, i'm sure someone on here will know the right spec if you are unsure Thumbs Up

All sorted now Thumbs Up

Searched internet, best price I could find was£87, Rang around local motorfactors until on of them tried to match the internet, got it off them for £88 if I collected it whilst the boss was out!!!! Rolling with laughter

Even got a 3 yr warranty with it, so in about 35 months it will have the same problem!
