United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Zermatt Silver
My first post (July delivery)

Having spent the last few months reading the posts on the forum (I've found your rantings to be informative and amusing), I decided to join, and say Hi.
I've just ordered my Sport, with a July delivery date (so avoiding the £2,500 price increase).
I look forward to posting my ramblings, and getting to know you all a little better.

Bob.

Thanks VA. I've read many of your posts, but I've never figured out where you get your name from.

My father was Totally Annoyed and my mother was Mildly Annoyed! Very Happy

Seriously and in a nutshell I got my RRS on 1st June 2005 and owned it all of 16 days until over £20,000 of damage was done in a RTA. It took LR 3 months to fix because of lack of parts, hence I was VA! 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Bob - Welcome on board the express train to randomsville!

Notice you've specc'd stormers. I'm in the process of getting a set for my TDV6 HSE - Have you ordered them from your dealer (OE)?

I've been working it out today and I reckon a set of 5 + tyres is going to sting me for £3300! Shocked

Is it cheaper if you sub std S/C wheels for stormers? Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

Hi, I live in Hinckley, Leicestershire (about 5 minutes walk from the Land Rover dealer).

The OE Stormers were about an extra £3k through the dealers, so I've bought a set of copys from ebay, complete with Continental tyres for £1200. They're in my garage now, just waiting for the car Very Happy
I must say, the wheels are perfect copies, and appear to be very good quality, but I'll always have the stock 20 inchers to fall back on.
Actually, the tyres must be worth about a grand, so in effect, I got the Stormers for £200, which has got to be a bargain....................oh, and they look flipping marvellous!!!!

Bob, that is a bargain as the OE wheels alone, excl. tyres are £411.25 each inc VAT.

Order 5 of those bad boys and you're already at £2056!

Blackcircles.com quote Conti's @ £234.60 each fitted (x5 = 1173!)

If you were to put them side by side, could you tell ANY difference between replica and OE? Pics I've seen make the OE Stormers look like a brighter finish.

That's another question, do you ABSOLUTELY have to order a 20" for your spare or should you need to use a 19" spare with 20's on the other 3 corners, will that cause any problems/legal issues?

I'm sure that space savers are not always the same diameter as std fit wheels. Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

ST, I've seen some that are a slightly brighter silver, and there are some that are a "Diamond cut and laquer finish" which are very bright.
I've not put mine side by side with OE's but they look exactly the same as the ones in the brochure. The castings are perfect.

It's also possible to get black stormers, and the guy I bought them off had 22" black Stormers on his black RRS. He does a lot of wheel/tyre packages on ebay. They're all new.

The sets are all 4 wheels, not 5.

I was going to use one of the original 20 inchers as a spare, but the handbook says not to do this because it would damage the face of the alloy wheel. The spare should be a 19" with a higher profile tyre to keep the same overall diameter.

Say, how do you put someone elses text in a box? RRS 4.2 S/C. Zermatt. Tints. Stormers. 150+ paint defects, wonkey bonnet, scratches, detached doorseal. suspension faults. To sum it up, a 60k pile of cr4p!

If that's a topless car wash, then yes, there is one on the A5 at Hinckley (allegedly). I haven't been there myself (honest Wink ) but I hear it has it's devotees.
I'm even given to believe that it has it's own website!!!
