Clunk felt through steering wheel

Hi all, I've read with interest the threads on knocking coming from the front of the RRS. I'm not sure if this is the same problem would appreciate any views please.

The clunk seems to appear as you take up the drive and a definate thud is felt through the steering wheel. Nother audiable is evident. Say for example, you ease of ready to make a turn and before you've stopped rolling, you re-apply the throttle around 15 to 20 mph) the thud/clunk is felt again. The dealer has checked all the sus and steering and found nothing, as has an independent garage. It also happens when reversing with some lock on!!! Any ideas ??

Smoogle, thank you. Yes, this does help and at the same time thouroghly depresses me......
I will compile a list of possibles and take it to the steeler to start working through.
