Plasma Screen help!

coming upto 3 years ago I bought a 50" Samsung plasma, at the time £3,500.......now £900 Big Cry

I got a standard 1 year warranty, lately picture not great, I upgraded to Sky HD thinking this would solve the problem......NO! The sky man said the picture is horrendous compared to what it should be, think i've got used to it, in reality its probably been faulty since new, I just thought it was the price you pay for having a big screen.

Samsung don't want to know obviously, my question is, is it possible/practical to repair? On site ideally.

I have photos of the picture quality if anyone is an expert?

I just can't bear to throw away something that cost £3.5k (even though it is only £900 now Rolling Eyes )

PS Anyone want to buy a 50" plasma in "perfect" condition Laughing

speak with a good supplier of tv's and they will have a repair company themselves or one they might be able to recommend.

I got my TV's from sound and vision in manchester, always had great service from them, but not had a faulty one to test that out Thumbs Up

I bought my last tv from them too. Very good and a cost effective way of cutting out the middle man margins! WINNER - 2009 Best Newcomer Award

Jonny - we have a lot of Plasmas/LCD's repaired however they all have to go to our electronics guy to repair on the bench - he's repaired nearly everything we've supplied him over the last few years - most fault tend to be power supply issues. So to answer your question, Yes they can be repaired and our repair costs never exceed £150-£200.

Don't plasmas give a better picture when new but the gas in the plasma deteriorates over time?

Can you maybe have the gas replaced or recharged? Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad
