Hi,

I have noticed that if I have been driving my wife to work, she gets out, and the passenger seat belt alert comes on. She is no longer in the seat, and of course the seat belt is unbuckled. If I then give the passenger seat a good whack, it goes away.

Is this a trip to the stealer and a new sensor?

It's more bloody annoying when you have a water bottle or laptop on the seat and it keeps flashing

and bonging friend of mine bought a buckle from a scrap yard to 'turn off' the feature in his car

You can also stop the sound definitly:

Key in ignition, turn to switch electricks on. Sit in seat and put buckle in the buckle lock 9 times within a minute. After the ninth time a bong will sound and it's sorted. Do the reverse to reset!

It was definitly working on cars 2/3 years old, not sure about the newer ones Range Rover Vogue ‘17 TDV6

Mine was doing the same - left it under warranty and it has been resolved. Not sure what they did though.

I had the same problem a while back. You have a faulty pressure sensor under the passenger seat cushion. Your local dealership should replace the seat cushion under warranty.  Arctic Frost TDV6 SE. Aspen Leather, Cherry Wood, Privacy Glass, PTI, Tow Pack, Mudflaps, Tasmods, a new Fuelflap, a RRSport.co.uk umbrella in the boot & a RRSport.co.uk sticker on the rear glass.

worked on mine and mine is an 08 plate.......you need the key turned to 1st ignition point

The pressure switch in the occupant detection system (except NAS vehicles) which determines if the front passanger seat is occupied or not could be faulty/stuck . It is installed between the foam padding and the cover of the seat cushion.

The pressure switch incorporates a number of load cells connected in series and embedded in a plastic film. Weight on the pressure sensor increases the resistance of the circuit.

The instrument cluster supplies a reference voltage to the pressure switch and measures the current draw to determine the occupancy status. From the occupancy status, and the status of the front passenger safety belt (received from the RCM (restraints control module) on the high speed CAN (controller area network) bus), the instrument cluster determines the belt minder status.

That's how this works!  Malaysia Boleh!

It does work even on newer ones...

The belt minder function can be enabled and disabled using the driver safety belt switch. The instrument cluster changes the state of the belt minder function if, within 60 seconds of first turning the ignition switch to position II, the driver safety belt is fastened and unfastened nine times. Successful completion of the change is indicated by a single chime and the safety belt warning indicator flashing five times, at 2 Hz. The belt minder function can also be enabled and disabled using T4.

I assume T4 is the diag port hookup??
