Adam - are they saying a software upgrade can not be done on your RRS? If so check again because I'm nearly 100% sure it can - I had my 05 RRS software upgraded. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Adam,

I'm 100% sure you can upgrade the software in the comms ecu which does the bluetooth .

ISTR other threads of members who have had it done (and been charged for it) for new phone compatibility reasons.

We need a comment from Pete Bell.

I'd like to know why the CHPR chap thinks it can not be done.
Maybe he has checked your car and you have the latest software already.

I'll check the version of my BT software later on , and see what update IDS offers.

FYI they didnt even get as far as seeing the car... the technician sent the service guy out to tell me they dont know what im talking about.

I got some piece of paper given to me with blackberry's website address?!

Must say, I did expect more from CHPR.

If you can find out for me that would be great... otherwise i can call land rover uk? WINNER - 2009 Best in Class Range Rover Sport Award

Adam,

Sorry as it sounds like you've been messed around a bit. Unless it's the retro-fit bluetooth kit then I'm pretty certain that it can be upgraded, however I'm not on the technical side of the business and for good reason!

Can you PM me your name, reg number and mobile and the service advisor you spoke to and I'll ask our Service Manager Paul King to call you to find out where we got to with it. If there is a way then we'll get to the bottom of it! Thumbs Up

If anyone from the forum visits the dealership then PLEASE ask whoever is dealing with you to let me know that you (or your car) is in, then at least I can keep an eye out!

Regards,

James Thumbs Up

Of course I called up and booked it in! I wouldnt take a morning off work on the 'off chance'!

I was told by the person I spoke to that the upgrade was available and it would take 40 mins. When I got there I was made to feel like I imagined it lol

2005 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Vesuvius Orange

it can definitely be done... before I picked my VO up I insisted the Bluetooth was upgraded & Sat Nav Disc replaced with most current version. Works with iPhone 3G perfectly...

Which BBerry do you have?.. I've got a Pearl from work and can try it in the car tonight if this helps. RRS First Edition S/C, Vesuvius Orange, Rear Entertainment, Alpine TUE-T200DV, Stormer Alloys. (+ 19" MTR's for playing in the snow!)

I have a Blackberry Pear, and it works fine - i have also tested the Curve, Storm and Bold they also work with address book.

when I had my car booked in for the address book update i was also told it wouldnt work, the dealer ordered a new bluetooth module and updated it - all done under warranty. RR Sport TDV6 HSE 07MY Java Black

Adam and CHPR,

there is a tsb regarding the bluetooth upgrade.
look here.....
http://rangerovers.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=24359

but remember bluetooth is bluetooth.
You will be able to use any phone with no software upgrade you just wont be able to use the phonebook via the dash.
If phonebook is important , get it done.
