lazy entry problem

I have a problem with lazy entry. I set it to on position on the computer, but nothing happens. I asked at the dealer and they said they switched it on, but after I left the service it actually still didn't work.
Is there something additional that I need to do? Is there a way to reset it?
maybe I should do something when I set the seat position memory?
in the manual there is very little about lazy entry, and nothing about this problem.
any advice? My name: Patryk

Once lazy entry is switched on, you then need to turn the key to position I or II on the ignition, move your seats and mirrors to the desired location then press the MEM button followed by one of the numbers. The car will beep, and a message appears on the dash display.

From that point every time you unlock the car with the key you have just used, the seat memory will operate and bring everything back to your saved settings. There's not a lot of point using it if you're the only one using the car tbh....

thanks for the info. but from what you wrote it means that lazy entry is that the seat will automatically move to my stored position once I use "my" key. is that right?

I have an infiniti fx and lazy entry is the option that when I open the door the seat moves fully back for easier entry and when I close the door and put the key in the ignition then the seat moves to the stored position.

so which one is it? if it is what I undesrtand from your post then it is really pointless. My name: Patryk

Lazy entry settings are coded to each key and allows, for example, you and your wife to both have your own settings coded to your own keys. It's not like the equivalent "lazy entry" in some other cars where everything moves out the way (including steering column) for you to get in.

AKA Geriatric Entry... I think that feature is available on newer Sports (those fitted with power tilt/telescoping steering columns anyway.) I've experienced it on a new LR3 here and it's a bit disconcerting to see everything moving up and away when you remove the key from the ignition if you are not used to it, but I don't believe Land Rover gave it a "name". You can disable it.

Yes, RRS from 2008.5.

Used it few times at the beginning, but the novelty wears off quickly, and I'm not "fattish" like some around here Wink , can get in and out easily, so I disabled it '08 RRS TDV8

yea and i found sometimes if you were too quick and start the car the seat stops moving half way through the positioning. Im pretty sure i saw a 'lazy entry' option in the settings on the dash (flick through the OBC while stationary). I turn it on and off via the electricly adjustable steering column stalk though, so not sure what the menu option is for.

Does anybody know if the steering col. adj. is in the auto position whether the seat as well as the streering wheel moves or just the seat?

If you have the electric steering column adjustment switch you leave it on "Auto", I think. If you don't want seat and wheel to move, you flip the switch clockwise to the Geriatric off position.
