Am I paranoid or is my suspension or prop knocking?

I've had my 56 Plate RRS TDV6 for about a month, and ever since I've had it I have been concerned that there is a knocking coming from under the car if I went over a speed ramp or pot hole. Is there an explanation for this or should I be looking to waste my time trying to explain it to my local LR Stealer?

Thanks in advance,

I think it's coming from the front.

Take it to the dealer and let them drive it - if there's a knocking when going over bumps it's probably something other than the talked about Dynamic Response knock. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Could be the ball-joints ot suspension bushes. There is a new design of ball-joints, so if they are the problem, make sure the stealer uses the new ones. Thumbs Up

Just been reading about the Dynamic Response issue, to save me browsing through 100's of posts, was there ever a fix? or is the Stealer fobbing customers off with a white paper from LR?

I'm sure my problem is like the Dynamic Response one.

PS. The car has just had it's 45k service and nothing was noted about any issues.

After reading "PauloAmore" response,

"In my case, 2 bushes 3 or 4" either side of the Dynamic Response unit. (maybe attached to the anti roll bar). - So nice to have a dealer that actually knows what the problem is and keeps trying to fix it."

Would these bushes be covered by the 3yr warranty?

PS. Would the stealer honour the warranty even if the car has been bought privately as i believe the LR stealer cannot tell if the RRS has been serviced at any other stealer franchise? They can only tell if the RRS has had any recalls.

Just introduced myself to my local dealer. As soon as I mentioned the words "knocking" and "RRS" to the service bloke he finished the sentence for me. It's booked in for this Thurs, he said they would need the car for a couple of days and offered me a loan vehicle for the duration.

He seemed to be very aware about the complaint owners have been making. As soon as I get the car back I shall write the results of what exactly has been replaced or modified.

Fingers crossed.

Excellent. You're lucky to have a dealer who isn't blind to the problem... plenty attempt to fob you off with the "it's a characteristic, sir" approach Thumbs Up
