I NEARLY bought a C30 with the 2.5 TD engine. I like it a lot BUT.................................... it is small and the Volvo diesel is even noisier than any VAG diesel which I think are far and away the most unrefined diesels until I heard the Volvo. I used to have the C30's predecessor the Volvo 480ES, it is truly the most unreliable car I have ever owned which was why I changed to Land Rovers. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Yes Jay, it never got further south on the M6 than Hilton Park Services - six tries we had and they all ended up with the wipers and indicators developing a mind of their own, the heated seats and mirrors going crazy and bongs sounding all the time when the ECU in the passenger footwell used to get drowned in the motorway spray in wet weather. All for the sake of a 25p grommet to seal a cable hole in the bulkhead! You still see those around too, thank goodness my was covered by Volvo's lifetime warranty otherwise it would have cost me a fortune in trailering fees to recovery companies.
Even my TVR was better built than the Volvo! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

R-Design is now a standard model in the range but you cannot have it with the bigger capacity engines as far as I know - the really sporty one uses the petrol 5 pot 2.5 turbo that Ford took off Volvo for the Focus ST. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

you can get the C30 R-Design with a D5 (diesel) or T5 (Petrol) and to make them both better you can now have them in manual gearbox versions which just been brought out (that was the reason my brother decided to change his V50)

I'd say it's a RR Sport, too tall to be the C-30 - look how high the top of the door is compared to the people climbing in; and the square corner of the front bumper is very RRS.. And agree with Jay not tall enough for a FFRR (are they actually different heights in reality or is that just a perception?!) If not a RRS then I'd suggest another similarly dimensioned 4x4 / SUV.

Not sure how you can see if the tailgate is removed as its the car's front profile that is showing - look at the way that the door opens in the film! Wink

Ahhhh 2ndrower we are talking about the small car right at the end of the clip, rather than the big car at 2min10 secs in. Judging by the rake of the front screen I think that is a FFRR rather than a Sport. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Hmm, FFRR I think... although I admit it does look a bit RRS-ish given a lot of the view is blocked.
