Really sad story, and real shame about his pets/wife and child.
Seriously must have had deep problems to see no other way out then this.
Maybe his thought process was, i won't just kill myself and leave my wife and kid with all the problems im leaving? i dunno.. who knows what was going through his mind at the time..

My wife has asked me several times in the last week "Would you do that?".

I have absolutely no idea what dark place you need to find yourself in before that seems like the right answer (although I haven't told her that).

There was something in the times last Sunday about his business and the product he invented and how he started undercutting suppliers against the contracts - his company was bought by a suppliers parent for a fraction of the price it was worth (apparently) - courts were involved and he lost out but gained hefty legal bills as i recall...

I am sure at least the wife and daughter would have opted for life in a 2 bed terraced over the apparent outcome...

Indeed. The first thing I thought when I first heard about it was that he'd ended up upsetting the wrong people. Turns out that wasn't the case (at least not directly) but something clearly snapped for him to end up doing all this.
