Hello to everybody,
has anyone the Larini system fitted in the TDV8 with DPF ?
Does it sounds good anyway ?
Will it require some modifications?

I've got it fitted to a TDV8 and I also had it on a TDV6. Pics are in my gallery. Not sure what you mean by DPF

Sounds very good

No modification to the lower valance required. Fits in perfectly and looks great as well  TDV6 - gone

DPF = Diesel Particle Filter ??

Yes , DPF stands for Diesel Particle Filter

In that case the exhaust is fitted well behind the CATS, assuming the DPF is forward of the CAT it should have no effect

Because any modification forward of the CAT will definately invalidate your warranty.

Also has added benefit that the black stuff still exits downwards

Josh,
starting from the engine You have the two exhaust manifolds then two CAT units(one for each side),follows the DPF unit then a big muffler and at last two smaller mufflers one for each side just before the tail pipes.

The DPF has only recently been introduced I believe... 08 onwards if I remember (it's Mon morning and haven't had time to warm up my memory yet!)

Thanks chaps.........well in that case looking at the diagram I don't really see any reason why a Larini exhaust would make any difference.

After all it's only a bit of stainless steel pipe with two modified SS back boxes. The old exhaust pipes are cut a short distance before the two back boxes and in it goes. It's not a performance enhancer......just looks really good and sounds a lot better (imho).........

Unless any one thinks I've got it wrong. I'm sure Larini would provide the exact answer. TDV6 - gone

I have a Larini/JE system on my '08 car.
Like I mentioned in a previous post,the DPF has muted the V8 burble substantially and the Larini exhaust does't make it a whole lot different,looks a lot better though IMO.
If I were you I would order one without the rear pipes facing downward; the DPF absorbs most of the diesel soot anyway and it won't appear like you just slid a couple of €50 Halfords tips over the original exhaust tips.

thank you so much for the good advice, I'm not going to spend over eur 1000 if it doesn't change too much the "voice " of the v8!
I bought the car knowing not too much about the DPF , if I had known about that I would have ordered the car without the filter!!
Did You cut the pipes that connect the DPF to the muffler in order to mount the Larini exhaust?
Have You got a sound file of Your DPF/Larini exhaust?

I had the larini system fitted by my landrover dealer before i took delivery of the car,all I know is that it took them a couple of hours to get the system fitted.

The first time I started the car I was hugely disappointed by the muted exhaust note,the salesguy told me it was due to the DPF and they would not be able to remove it .

No specialist in my surroundings is willing to fettle with the DPF,so until someone is up to the job I guess I'm stuck with it.

I was thinking about this:
since the cars equipped with the DPF have actually two big filters , the DPF itself acts substantially as a " sound filter" too and the muffler, what about removing the silencer after the DPF ?
It should sound like You had just one muffler!!
