My Discovery 4 had new modules, batteries and software updates.

Clean receiver hole thoroughly?
Could be surface rust or grim stopping it fitting correctly.
Do not use it for towing until fully home and lock fully engaged.  |

Had this on my Tdv8 ffrr, it was the drivers side exhaust manifold which had warped and snapped most of the studs.
New manifold and a lot of Labour later it was fixed.

Straight six used to be fitted in Freelander 2, which was similar chassis/floorpan.
