Hi, you are correct, it can be caused by a number of things.
Manufacturing defect in the crankshaft, oil starvation due to failed Oil pump, using the wrong oil etc. |

That’s very similar to how my SDV6 behaved just before the crank snapped and the engine seized
at 88K miles whilst out of warranty. JLR supplied a new engine and a local independent Land Rover spec ... |
