First of all, check which KVM module you have.
My MY 2010 had the 2nd generation KVM, which wouldn't permit a new key to be coded, so I had to have a new 3rd gen KVM as well as the key $$$$$! |

If you look carefully at the left front door handle you will see that the small (stationary) part has a key symbol on it. You need to remove this cover to expose the keyhole.
