When I was deciding to buy I noticed in one dealership that the Director's RRS S/C in showroom was sporting a reversing camera wired up to the front screen.
This is available on the RR. Ideal with privacy glass!

Has anyone considered it? or even got one? or will the dealers do it? TDV6 - gone

Josh, is there any way you can contact the dealership and find out what they did exactly? More than likely, they have the Nav-TV module installed. If not, please do keep the forum informed.

The current "Nav-TV" hack does nothing to enable the reverse camera functions that are part of the core system. You'd need to "manually" select it, just like a video source... instead of it automatically kicking in when you are in R.

Maybe the dealer figured out how to convince the system to behave like the Range Rover... something I have yet to figure out. (If so, someone get us the details!) If that isn't it, maybe they somehow added a total screen bypass like most 3rd party rear view camera systems use...

Thanks grommet, I too am one looking for reverse camera functionality without having to pay $2000 for it. I know what comes with nav-tv and what it is capable of (and of course what it is not capable of).

Now, if we can get Josh to maybe look into what he saw...

You might also have a look at racinggreencars.co.uk they do a reversing camera from Arden for the RRS fitted to the bumper. Don't know the cost or how its wired up. TDV6 - gone

Am sure that I have seen these in Halfords or a similar store. But many electrical stores in tottenham court road sell them.Not sure if they will be able to use the screen supplied with RR.

Apparently Racing Green's is connected to the front screen. Waiting to find out it it enguages when you select reverse and cost. TDV6 - gone

I spoke to the LR dealer and they denied all knowledge. So I'm guessing its the perk of being the MD to have it done by the company.

Had email from Racing Green. They spoke to Arden today and its bad news.
The camera system has been withdrawn by Arden as for some reason they couldn't get it to work with the standard front screen. Only avail for RR.

Found a couple of UK sites that do them.
One with a day/night camera in bumper wired up to a a 3" TFT which is installed as part of the rear view mirror housing which clips onto the cars fitted mirror. Looks quite good and kicks in when you select reverse.

The other one I liked was again cam in bumper wired up to a replacement sunvisor which has a 8" TFT on the inside of the visor. Downside is that the visor only comes in grey. But still looks quite good. Just not sure about colour!
