Best is to bring in a USB key tomorrow if you've got one. If not, you should buy one - mighty useful things! Thumbs Up

is the problem with your wireless router or laptop? I'd recommend a Linksys router if the wireless router is the problem

I use Plusnet at home. Very good service, responsive both via phone and email (if you have an active internet connection, obviously). In 4 years of using them, I've never had a single dropout ever.

http://www.plus.net

£15/month for up to 8Mb service on their midrange product. Lots of choice, varying different contention rates etc to choose from.

In my experience, I'd never recommend an ISP that hands out free CDs.

we did as you suggested and moved the router last night and my computer started to run at 2mbps, we do have a wireless alarm system, when we put the router back it went to 54 then dropped to 36, could this be a problem too. Question Very Happy no regrets!

I doubt your wireless alarm system is interfering - they will operate on different frequencies (well, they should do).

Envoy, when you change ISPs, you will manually have to change some settings on your router but you'll be given the info you need to change and what to change it to. These CDs are only for local settings on your PC if it's your PC that connects to your broadband service via a USB modem or some such. Added to which they often muck about with your browser settings etc.... steer well clear.
