When you say a "programme" do you mean a software thing, or is there a hardware involved.

It's a software upgrade, normally loaded via the diagnostic plug. Or some companies remove and reprogramme the ECU. Arctic Frost TDV6 SE. aam, you asked the questions I've given you the answers.

You can not buy a kit to do this yourself. You need the electronic programmes for the original engine mapping system first. And then this has to be re written.

Anyone that decides to go down this route is paying for the technology. They are also paying for the comforting knowledge that if the dealer overwrites the new software during servicing or warranty work, most reputable agents will reprogramme the vehicle free of charge.
