Attempted break in?

Just found the Freelander with a bit of plastic trim missing from around the back window. Had a proper look at it, couldn't have been accidental or have just fallen off. Someone has done it on purpose, either attempted break in (looking at the other trim I reckon I could get it that way if I wanted to), or just plain vandalism, which seems to be happening a lot to 4x4s these days. It can't have happened long ago, I've only just noticed it. Don't know how I'll replace the part, it's not the sort of thing someone will have lieing about. Probably have to find one at a scrapyard.

Andy, shame to hear this.
I would go more for vandalism / somebody wanting that part!
I think there are easier ways to get into a Freelander.

Hope it is not too costly Evil or Very Mad

I've found the part numbers so it'll be very cheap to fix (c.£12). It's black the bit that has gone, so could be on any Freelander. Reckon that could be what's happened. Don't think anyone would be bothered to do it for vandalism. 2002 Discovery Adventurer LE
